yup. Probably would've put a stop to just about everything right away and we'd be 1000 more troops strong in the US.

More American's have died since the war was ended. We should not stick our noses into molding another country into what we think it should be. We are not the world police. The USA got no support because George W is a crazy zelot. He couldn't get Osama so he shifted his anger. I would be very upset if my son had to give his life under these circumstances. The military is far more important than to leave them in a country where they are not wanted. Hence all the beheadings. Because we are not wanted there!!

sounds like the exact statements I heard on the news today. :-k
However, Howard Stern and Robyn made a really good point on the stern show this morning. He said "... Bush wouldn't have been zo zealous about going to war or staying over there if his daughters were in the military. Sign them up! Get there asses over there and see how fast Bush ends this nonsense"
Oh and regardless what the politicians say... the war isn't over.

:-k Would this be considered a "politics" discussion? I thought there was a rule against that :?:

I don't like to waste my time talking about politics. One, I don't know enough about politics because I'm not interested. Two, I'm not interested because I don't like the stuff I already know. Just my opinion though. :|

I feel pretty much the same way but then again... politics is what runs this country. Unfortunately we are the ones affected by it. As much as it disgusts me, I still think we need to be part of it in order to help bring it back to something we can be proud of or at least bare to listen to. Thats part of the problem with people not voting... they are all disgusted and don't want anything to do with it, yet not voting is only making it worse.

What if you don't like any of the candidates? :smt005

I don't remember actually how it works but I was given a new way to think about it. If you DON'T vote then your actually giving the person or people you don't want in office 100 votes. But if you instead, vote for someone other than them, say someone you know won't win anyway, then your actually voting against them by 500 votes. Something to that effect. People don't realize that there 1 vote really makes a difference.

I'll have to call my aunt, she works at the board of elections, and I'll get the actual numbers and what not to post in here.
