SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- The California Highway Patrol has caught someone who could be a real dummy.
A CHP officer busted a man this week for driving solo in a high-occupancy vehicle lane.
The officer said the driver had a dummy passenger riding shotgun in order to use the carpool lane north of San Francisco.
Officer Will Thompson said he pulled the car over because he noticed the passenger had no legs.
It was a kickboxing dummy wearing a Miami Dolphins windbreaker and a ball cap.
Thompson said that, as he wrote the ticket, all people who passed by were laughing. But maybe not driver Kevin Morgan. He got ticketed for more than $350.
