The extraordinary battle for the future of humankind through the eyes of one American family fighting to survive it. Ray Ferrier is a divorced dockworker and less-than-perfect father. Soon after his ex-wife and her new husband drop of his teenage son Robbie and young daughter Rachel for a rare weekend visit, a strange and powerful lightning storm touches down.

It was pretty good. I was sitting on the edge of my seat a few times. I wasn't crazy about the ending though.

Good movie over all, ending was weak. It just sort of ended.

You should rent the made for TV version with C. Thomas Howell (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449040/), I liked the ending of that one MUCH better!

I don't know... I was ruined with the made for TV version I think. I didn't really like the Tom Cruise version. The special affects were a lot better and the aliens were better but, overall I liked the other one better. It had a real reason for the death of the aliens and showed how it was done. Tom Cruise's version just kinda, made them vanish.
