(Brockport, NY) 02/20/06 -- Police said quick thinking by a SUNY Brockport student helped her escape from an attacker early Friday morning.

She was walking alone off campus around 3:30 a.m. when a man grabbed her from behind. She began screaming. Police nearby heard her and responded. The woman was not hurt, but the man ran off and police were not able to find him.

Anyone with information that could help police find a suspect in Friday's assault is urged to call the Crimestoppers hotline at (585) 423-9300. Callers do not have to give their names and could receive a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.

Exactly! We got emails and voicemails about this up the wazooo! The voicemail said, please use common sense at night, blah, blah, blah! :smt005 I bet at least 80% of the students said, "what's that?"
