VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia (AP) -- A suitcase containing human remains was found floating near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel on Sunday, the third such discovery in the area this month.

A boater alerted police that he had found the suitcase floating off the second island of the bridge-tunnel, said Virginia Beach police spokesman Don Rimer.

The remains were sent to the state medical examiner's office in Norfolk. Detectives believe the third suitcase is related to the two found previously this month, Rimer said.

On May 11, a graduate student who was bird-watching on Fisherman's Island off Virginia's Eastern Shore found a suitcase containing body parts wrapped in plastic bags, reportedly including a human head.

Less than a week earlier, a fisherman discovered a suitcase containing human remains near the fourth island of the bridge-tunnel.

Police described the remains as being those of a white male. Police said it was not immediately known how long the man had been dead or his identity.

If you ever got stuck finding a body part, what part would you rather find?

That sounds like a Patricia Cornwall Book... Hmmmm!!

As for body part, I wouldn't want to find any. I am a big chicken! I wouldn't sleep for weeks. I would probably only see the body part when ever I closed my eyes!!!

It probably wouldn't matter what part you found. It'd be gross and probably seem fake at first - besides the stench! But, if I had my choice I would definitely not want to find any private parts.

I don't think we ever thought of what we would do if we actually found one. Luckily we didn't! I'm not sure what we would have done! Stare at it for a while, I guess......

Yea, I wouldn't want to get close to it. Dead things usually smell.

my friend, she used to work for a funeral home chain. Her awful job was to pick up and transport cadavers. Had to get them from the airport. Apparently, after most normal deaths, the human body "relieves itself" for lack of better terminology. And the departed stink. And the people near them stink, and the shipping packaging stinks. And the loading dock stinks. And imagine her van (on a hot day parked at the cargo section of the airport) EWWWWW gross. :vom:

What do they do with the van that they cart the stiffs around in when it's a few years old and has 200K miles? It has to reek too bad to command any decent resale value. I guess they burn it.

Believe it or not, there is a business that sells a machine you put in the vehicle. Actually I think its on the outside with a hose or something to the inside. I don't remember exactly, but you close all the windows and the machine sucks out all the bad smells and shit. Its pretty expensive and takes like 3 days. When I worked at Dorschel, I helped them do it to a car. Did a killer job too! The car they took in belonged to a smoker that took his dog everywhere. Talk about bad smell. most cars like that you would send to the auction and not worry about it. Well this one had less then 30k on it! Stunk so bad though. Like the guy lived in his car and never left. I couldn't believe how nice it smelled in it afterwards.
