The Monroe County Health Department has closed a Henrietta restaurant because of sanitary code violations.

Yangtze's Asia Buffet and Bistro at 1100 Jefferson Rd. is closed.

The Health Department suspended the restaurant's food permit after it found the restaurant improperly sprayed poisonous or toxic materials in a food service area and stored those materials next to food items.


The Health Department also says Yangtze failed to keep the restaurant free of insects and rodents, kept food at the wrong temperature and let water, sewage or liquid waste near the food prep areas.

The owner must now hire a commercial company to clean the place.

They reopened:


(Rochester, N.Y.) – The Monroe County Health Department has given the green light to Yangtze Asia Buffet & Bistro to reopen.

The Jefferson Road restaurant had been ordered closed July 11 because of numerous violations. The restaurant reopened Friday.

In a separate action, the county temporarily closed Burger King, at 1100 Jefferson Road as a result of inappropriate use of an insecticide. The county ordered the restaurant to throw out a number of food items and paper products that may have been contaminated. The eatery reopened the same day.
