In actuality the Savage Land has been around since 2004, but it's occupied various servers. It started out as "The Dry Board" in 2004 on a free host. When that host got hit by Syn attacks it switched to a private host and essentially started again brand new.
It's moved hosts several times since then and eventually morphed into the Savage Land, where it's located at

There's very little censorship there with the exception of real surnames are nor allowed, nor is graphic porn.
Among the moderators at the Savage Land is cloudddae, who posts here as well.

I just registered. I like that you use SMF. It is a good forum script to use. =D>

Back when it was called "Dry Board" I used phpbb2. Eventually I converted it to SMF. I really do like the SMF features better. I think phpbb3 has included some of the features SMF has had for a while now, but phpbb3 is still in some beta testing stages last I heard.
When I did the conversion both versions of the forum existed..one in phpbb2 and one in SMF, although we didn't use the phpbb2 version. Eventually the phpbb2 one got hacked, which can be a problem with phpbb2. Another forum I post on actually got hacked at least 3 times. It was phpbb2 as well.
And I've actived your membership at Savage Land. We're getting a bit of spambots signing up so I've gone to admin activation for the time being.

spambots suck!!! Thats one of the reasons I pay for vbulletin. ITs expensive, but worth it.

They seem to have slowed down.
I have a friend named larocque6689 who's kind of a technical advisor at my board. He admins a forum called Stallion Cornell's Moist Board. He told me over there he placed some kind of code into the forum which essentially blocks 100s of addys for spambots.
However, Moist Board is a phpbb3 forum. He' still learning the ropes with SMF.
Anyway, if anyone is interested in Moist Board this is the URL
www.stallioncornell.com/board/
Moist Board is basically a forum to play around in and they don't take stuff very seriously.
