(Greece, NY) 06/10/04 - The state attorney general's office is taking action against the owners of several home improvement companies. Investigators filed two lawsuits Thursday.

One was against James Sudore, who operates businesses under several names.

James Fava hired Sudore and gave him $2,200 to install a fire place nearly a year ago, but Sudore never completed the work.

"I called him a few times. You can’t get through to him…I went to the town court…I went to the Greece Town Hall…He told me he was insured which he wasn’t…” Fava said.

A call to Sudore’s office Thursday revealed that the number has been disconnected.

Anyone with a complaint against a home improvement contractor is encouraged to contact the Attorney General’s office.

There will also be Home Improvement Forum on June 17 at RIT, building #78. The forum runs from 10:00 a.m. until noon.

You know, fuckers like him ruin it for everyone else trying to run that kind of a business! :smt013

yup but you know what, it could help other contractors too. The ones that ARE legit will get the work. The only problem is, its so damn expensive to get insurance for that kind of work.

I just don't get why people pay upfront. I can see giving them some money to start, but don't give it all to them until the job is finished.
