I'm pretty sure that S and I put pop-up blocker on your machine.

You should use it!

well if its the messaging service, it might be the build in XP

windows messenger.

Click on Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools.
Doube Click on Services. Scroll

down until you see Messenger, double click on it. Towards the middle of the screen you should see "service status"
If

it says started, this is probably why you are getting pop-up messages.

This can be safely disabled, you don't need it running.
First click the stop

button, this will turn it off.
Second, up above is "Startup type" , set this to "disabled"
Click on OK and then

close the rest of the windows.

:!: Do not change any of the other services, you

can cause a lot of problems

What is that used for anyhow Davagator? All the machines here are

set to "started" but I don't seem to be having any problems yet.

It was originally used by network admins to send out messages to

users, like if the had to restart a server and wanted to let everyone know.
Usually if you are behind a linksys router or

whatever, it blocks that port that the service uses and you'll never get those (unless you are DMZ)

I had the same problem. Would get a new pop-up every few minutes.

I turned off that service and haven't gotten any more windows messenger boxes.
