Yeah that would be nice. It would also have to turn lights on and off, along wiht the heat/AC. Making a pot of coffee would be nice too! :smt005

years ago, for fun, I once took my good friend's seven (7) remotes that I could find...he had more...and shrink-wrapped them together into one uber-remote. Placed it on top of the TV. Somehow he didn't find it funny. Could have been the half hour it took to unwrap them. Some people just can't take Urph's sense of humor (imagine!).

Hey, I still remember when people actually got up to turn a knob to change channels. :!:

remember? shit!! since I've been doing Dish Network, I've dealt with more TV's that you have to physically get up and change the dial than I have any digital TV's! I can't believe it! So many people still in the stone age when it comes to tv's. People are so cheap! Mostly the Arabs and other foreign people. Its kinda funny cause they are the ones with most beautiful homes and obviously with bookoo(pronunciation of the french word) bucks and yet they have these ancient artifacts in there living rooms and bedrooms!

yeah, crsh...

I did installs for adelphia and TWC, maintly powerlink and RR...but sometimes when it was slow I would cable tv-ify people in the 'burbs.

It was amazing, I would drive up to a $400K house, and walk in...and they would have a trinitron Sony from the early 70's. Some with green blobs like gator's.

And after about 3 hours fussing with little dials on the tv, I would call them into their living room (complete with furniture that costs more than my gross income for the last 3 years combined) and they would be like:

"umm, it's fuzzy" and they would proceed to push archaic TV buttons till it got even worse.

Gahhh! Damn rich people! You drive an Escalade, your hubby drives a porsche Boxter. You have a TV from when Gerald Ford was president...Hello! Of course it's fuzzy. Donate it to the goodwill, already, and get a real TV, arrrrghhh.

One dude offered me 5 bucks to hook up his entire home theatre system. Top notch everything except for the TV which apparently was aquired at a garage sale or he picked off the curb on trash day. I told him keep your money, I did my best but please...you need a real TV or you might as well have basic cable and enjoy This Old House reruns.

Damn rich people!

Interestingly enough, the best TV's were in the 'hood. Crack house with some rent-a-center workin' LOL

Never had a problem there....

In between was country people like me. Who usually had what I call I "television sculpture": Old-ass TV from the 40's, wood cabinet. On top of that 70's TV. Both dead. On top of that (third tier) was newer TV from Aldi's reject crate. Luckily, I usually only did redneck-land installs on a Sunday. So if they could get nascar without having their wife affix aluminum foil to the rabbit ears, it was all good. Plus they tipped in can beer. Life was good :tonqe:
