WILSON - A speeding boat struck and seriously damaged a Niagara County Sheriff's Department patrol boat over the weekend.
The patrol boat was traveling east on Lake Ontario at 10:36 p.m. Saturday when it was struck by a northbound boat traveling at a high rate of speed, according to deputies. The patrol boat sustained substantial damage, but no one was hurt.

John L. Barnes of St. Catharines, Ont., was charged with boating while intoxicated, reckless operation of a vessel and failure to display navigation lights. Bail was set at $500 in Wilson Town Court.

500 fucking dollars!?!?!?! Now if someone from the US was arrested for driving while drunk you know damn well there lisence would be taken away, bail would be 500K, and they'd have jail time for a year or weekends or something. Worse if they hit a cop!

yea, $500 is rather cheap especially with all those charges. Was the judge loaded or something?

well considering how late the accident was, I'm sure they called the judge out of bed. He must have been sleeping while hearing the case. I know when I was dragged to court at 2 in the morning and had to get the judge woken up.. he wasn't at all too happy. As a matter of fact, he was a complete asshole.
