Good Morning America is looking into the controversial practice of "hot saucing" as a method of disciplining children.

Parents who believe in the form of punishment will sometimes add a drop of hot sauce on their child's tongue as a punishment for hitting or talking back.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it if it's used right. I don't think a parent should use it everytime a kid talks back or says a bad word. But, if it's used in moderation and it helps, why not? The thing is, some parents get carried away with that kind of punishment stuff and that's not right. You don't want your kids to be afraid of you.

I prefer hot sauce to soap. When we were kids, my older brother had a song that he sang when it was time for Urph to get his mouth washed out for an f-bomb or whatever:

"Comet makes you Vomit and your Mouth turn GREEN!"

As in comet the powdered cleanser. Although lava soap was the preferred anti-profanity device.

wow your mom used Comet? My mom just made us stick our tongues out and she'd take a nice clean new bar of soap and slap it on our tongues. She'd tell us to hold it there and if it fell off our tongue in less then 60 seconds then she'd add more time on. eeeyuuuuccck!

lucky dog! I can't count how many times I got my ass kicked by my parents. Not literally, they were just being good parents. I didn't like it but I'll say that my parents did one hell of a job keeping me inline.

Evan and I had some regular discipline. But I learned don't fuck with dad after work after a few scotches. :smt021 Bad news. Now, I thank him for being stern, because if not I would not be who I am. My mother was even stricter. Age mellows people, that's for sure. Comet makes you vomit and your mouth turn green. lol

I would wait till my mom or dad was half asleep and then tell them what I did. That way they were just like, that's okay honey, just don't do that again.....zzzzzzzz!
